About Valley Baptist Legacy Foundation
Valley Baptist Legacy Foundation is a faith-based philanthropic organization rooted in the healing and teaching ministry of Jesus Christ. Established in 1976 as Valley Baptist Medical Foundation to support the Valley Baptist Health System's infrastructure, the organization evolved in 2011 into the Valley Baptist Legacy Foundation following a joint venture and subsequent restructuring. Now headquartered in Harlingen, Texas, the Foundation has invested over $162 million since 2014 in strategic grant-making programs designed to improve health and well-being across the Rio Grande Valley. The Foundation focuses on addressing critical community health needs including obesity and diabetes prevention, healthy lifestyle promotion, access to care, mental health services, aging in place, and dental health, working collaboratively with regional organizations to create sustainable, holistic change.
