About Christ's Haven For Children
Christ's Haven For Children is a nonprofit organization in the Keller area that provides trauma-informed, family-model care for displaced children, teens, and young adults. Founded in 1956 by Homer and Lillian Steadman, the organization operates across 58 acres with a neighborhood of homes rather than institutional dormitory-style care. Each home is staffed with houseparents who care for six to eight youth, creating a family environment where children experience normalcy, dignity, and hope during their time at Christ's Haven. The organization also operates a Family Resource Center, Food Pantry, College & Career Readiness Program, and hosts community events throughout the year. As a voluntary placement option outside traditional foster care, Christ's Haven serves families and children who need support during difficult transitions.
