The UPCI emerged from the Pentecostal movement of the early 1900s and has grown from 521 churches in 1945 to more than 45,000 churches worldwide, with nearly 6.2 million constituents. The denomination is committed to carrying the whole gospel to the whole world and emphasizes the new birth experience, passionate worship, and living an overcoming, holy life. The local Kermit congregation is part of this international fellowship of Oneness Pentecostal believers.
