About Westward Church of Christ
Westward Church of Christ in La Marque traces its beginnings to October 1952, when the congregation was known as the Tunis Street Church of Christ. Bro. William T. Carter served as minister during that earlier period. The congregation’s current sanctuary was erected in 1976-1977, and a multi-purpose activity building was later established nearby on Westward. Its history reflects a long-standing Church of Christ presence in the La Marque community, with worship and congregational life centered on its Westward campus.
