About Our Lady of Sorrows Church
Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in McAllen, Texas, has served as a spiritual beacon in the Rio Grande Valley since its founding in 1920, originally as St. Patrick's before being renamed in 1941 to honor Our Blessed Mother. The parish has grown from a small community into one of the largest and most recognized in the region, with a magnificent church completed in 1993 that seats 1,300 parishioners. Rooted in the Holy Eucharist, the parish brings together a diverse community through multiple weekend and daily mass offerings in both English and Spanish, complemented by a robust network of ministries including adoration, altar societies, Knights of Columbus, and various faith formation programs. Under the pastoral leadership of Fr. Gregory Labus, who began his tenure in September 2024, Our Lady of Sorrows continues to invite all who seek transformative grace through prayer, service, and fellowship.

Service Format: Multiple weekend masses offered in both English and Spanish, with daily masses Monday through Friday at 8:00am (English) and 5:30pm (Spanish), plus Saturday vigil at 4:00pm. Visitor Tips: Confessions are available Thursday 5:00-5:30pm in the Chapel and Saturday 10:30-11:30am in the Main Church; the parish welcomes new parishioners and offers information on becoming a member through their office.
