About First Protestant Church
First Protestant Church of New Braunfels describes itself as the city’s founding church, with weekly gatherings that trace back to a first Good Friday communion service under the Elm Tree on Coll Street in 1845. The church is a reformed congregational congregation, with key teachings explained through the Evangelical Catechism of 1929. Sunday worship includes both a liturgically oriented traditional service and a contemporary service with a more modern musical style. Discipleship classes, youth fellowship, coffee fellowship, children’s ministry, youth group, and small groups are part of church life. Historical building tours are offered on designated days throughout the year.
