About Word of Life
Word of Life Church is an Assemblies of God congregation in San Angelo with traditional worship and ministries for children, youth, and small groups. The church began more than 40 years ago when a small group met at the former Holiday Inn and Convention Center. Pastors David and Gaynell Smith led the original assembly, and the church’s name comes from Philippians 2:16, “Holding out to them the word of life.” Word of Life purchased its first building in 1984, and the original church building, completed in 1986, is now dedicated to youth and children’s ministries. Services and ministries are offered in English and Spanish.
