About Zion Lutheran Church
Zion Lutheran Church of Mission Valley is a historic Lutheran congregation in Victoria, Texas, with roots dating back to 1899 when services were first held in family homes. Officially established in 1915 by fourteen families, the church has grown to over 300 baptized members representing Victoria, DeWitt, and Goliad Counties. The congregation actively shares God's love through worship, Christian education, and community engagement, welcoming visitors to activate their faith within Christ's family. Zion Lutheran affirms traditional Lutheran theology, emphasizing justification by grace through faith, and recognizes the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion as ordained by Christ. The church moved from the ELCA to the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in 2010 and continues to serve as a spiritual home for families across the region.
