First Presbyterian Church in Waco welcomes all as children of God through worship, outreach, Christian formation, and congregational life. Following Jesus Christ's example in the Reformed theological tradition, the church reaches out to seekers and those in need while nurturing disciples across all life stages. The congregation is committed to honoring diversity and seeking to reconcile the world to God through ministries of justice and mercy. Founded in 1855
In May of 1855, the congregation was organized with seventeen charter members and two Ruling Elders. The cornerstone for the present church edifice at 1100 Austin Avenue was laid on September 25, 1911.
