About First Christian Church
First Christian Church in Weslaco began in 1953 with 76 people and broke ground at its first John Street location in 1956. The church relocated to the corner of Curtis and Staley Roads in 2003. In January 2025, First Christian launched its “Relentless” vision, continuing its focus on following Jesus and making disciples. The church says more than 1,000 people have surrendered to Jesus in baptism. Lead Pastor Eric Friedmann serves the congregation and has announced that he and his family will leave at the end of November 2026.
