About First Christian Church
First Christian Church in Wylie began in 1953 with a group of 76 people. The congregation broke ground at its first location on John Street in 1956 and relocated in 2003 to the corner of Curtis and Staley Roads. The church describes a long ministry marked by more than 1,000 people surrendering to Jesus in baptism. In January 2025, First Christian launched its “Relentless” vision, continuing its emphasis on helping people follow Jesus. Lead Pastor Eric Friedmann served the church for ten years before announcing his departure at the end of November 2026.
