About Provo Missionary Training Center (MTC)
The Provo Missionary Training Center is an institution of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints dedicated to preparing missionaries for service worldwide. Established in 1978, the MTC continues a tradition of missionary training that began with the School of the Prophets in 1832. Located on a 39-acre campus in Provo, Utah, the center serves approximately 3,700 missionaries at any given time and has trained over 600,000 missionaries from nearly every country in the world. The facility encompasses 21 buildings and provides instruction in 55 languages, equipping elders and sisters with both spiritual and practical preparation for their missions. Most missionaries now begin their training experience online at home before completing their preparation on-site at the MTC.
