About Congregation Kol Ami
Congregation Kol Ami is a vibrant, inclusive synagogue in Salt Lake City that serves Jews by birth, Jews by choice, and interfaith families. Founded in 1972 through the merger of two historic congregations, Kol Ami uniquely affiliates with both the Conservative and Reform movements, offering a variety of worship experiences to meet diverse spiritual needs. The congregation emphasizes three interconnected pillars: Limmud Torah (Jewish education), Avodah (ritual practice), and Gemilut Hasadim (service to others). With approximately 350 family units, Kol Ami represents about a quarter of Utah's Jewish population and is deeply rooted in Salt Lake City's Jewish heritage, which dates back to 1854. The congregation offers weekly Friday evening and Saturday morning services, religious school programming, adult education, and numerous community engagement opportunities.
