This congregation, part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) movement, traces its roots to 1842 when members purchased the historic Slash Church building, though the structure itself dates to 1729–1732 as the Upper Church of Saint Paul's Parish and stands as Virginia's oldest and best-preserved frame colonial church. The church offers vibrant, engaging worship that blends traditional hymns with contemporary songs, includes children fully in services through a dedicated Children Worship & Wonder program, and celebrates communion every Sunday as central to its identity.
