New Hope Baptist Church in Cartersville, Virginia has served its community faithfully since 1868, when devoted believers established a congregation on land donated by A. T. Brown. Over more than 155 years, the church has grown from a one-room brush arbor structure into a modern facility with a rich history of spiritual leadership and community service. Under the current pastoral guidance of Rev. Sherri Thomas, who was installed as the seventh pastor in 2016, the congregation embraces a mission to "reach up, reach out and reach in"—inspiring members to walk with a Christian spirit that shines and serves others. The church maintains active ministries including women's retreats, summer food service programs, revival services, and both in-person and online worship opportunities. New Hope Baptist Church welcomes visitors to join in worship and prayer as part of its continuing legacy of faithful devotion to Jesus Christ.
