About St Benedict's Catholic Church
St. Benedict's Parish is a Catholic church located in Chesapeake, Virginia, serving the faithful through the Traditional Latin Mass and the sacraments according to the 1962 Liturgical Books. Established as a mission chapel and canonically erected as a parish in 2012, St. Benedict's is staffed by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter and operates under the provisions of Summorum Pontificum with the blessing of the Diocese of Richmond. The parish offers multiple Sunday Masses at varying times, daily Masses throughout the week, and confessions available daily—one half hour before each scheduled Mass and Wednesday evenings from 7:00 PM to 7:45 PM. The church building itself is notably one of the first churches in the world designed and built exclusively for the extraordinary form of the Latin Mass since the 1960s, dedicated in 2011. All who reside within the Diocese of Richmond are welcome to join the parish community.
