About Sikh Foundation Of Virginia
Sikh Foundation of Virginia in Fairfax Station was founded in 1978 and describes itself as the oldest Gurdwara established in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The organization purchased five acres of land in 1981, and the present Gurdwara Sahib was inaugurated on Baisakhi day in 1989. Its life centers on Sikh worship and community, with leadership and music support that include a Head Granthi, a tabla player, and a chorus singer. The foundation also maintains a formal Constitution and Bylaws, with the current version dated March 16, 2025.
