About Good Shepherd Catholic Church
Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Lebanon, Virginia, has served the local Catholic community since 1957, when Father Roland Hautz first celebrated Mass in a mission trailer chapel on Christmas Day. The parish grew from this humble beginning to establish a permanent structure on West Main Street in the early 1960s, with parishioners and Glenmary brothers contributing their labor to prepare the foundation and build the church. Over the decades, the parish has been sustained by generous benefactors and community support, including a substantial legacy from parishioner Dr. Albert delCostillo in the mid-1980s that enabled the purchase of a dedicated rectory. The church is marked by a beautiful outdoor Good Shepherd statue, dedicated during the parish's 50th anniversary jubilee in 2016. Welcoming both longtime parishioners and visitors, Good Shepherd remains committed to serving the spiritual needs of Lebanon's Catholic faithful through regular worship and community life.
