About Garden UMC
The Garden United Methodist Church in Norfolk, Virginia is a welcoming, inclusive congregation that was established in 2018 through the merger of two United Methodist churches: St. Johns and Fairmont Park UMC. The church is deeply committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ while celebrating diversity and pursuing justice in their East Little Creek community. As a reconciling congregation, The Garden explicitly welcomes people of all gender identities, sexual orientations, races, abilities, and economic backgrounds. Service Format: Worship includes gathering to celebrate community, sharing Scripture and sermon, responding through giving and communion, and being sent forth as reconciled people made to love and be loved. Visitor Tips: All ages are welcome in worship; families with young children may use the pray-ground or nursery where worship is live-streamed; communion is open to all, and unbaptized children receive a pastoral blessing.
