About Church Of Christ
Church of Christ in Portsmouth is an inclusive, multi-racial and multi-cultural congregation of the United Church of Christ located at 5900 Portsmouth Boulevard. Officially organized in October 1958 as The United Congregational Christian Church, the congregation later merged with the First Christian Church of downtown Portsmouth to form one church family. The church welcomes all people through the love and peace of God through Jesus Christ, with a mission centered on spiritual development, youth and family programs, community service, and building partnerships with local organizations. Portsmouth UCC offers both in-person and virtual worship experiences via live streaming, accommodating diverse preferences for participation. The congregation embraces an open-minded approach to faith and invites visitors with open arms, hearts, and minds to experience their worship and ministry.
