About CCAP

CCAP is a faith-based homelessness prevention organization established in 1974 by eleven local churches in Winchester, Virginia. Operating as the Congregational Community Action Project, it serves families in Winchester and Frederick counties through a comprehensive safety net of services including a high-volume food pantry, professional clothing boutique, and financial assistance for rent, utilities, and emergency repairs. Guided by Christian values and interfaith cooperation, CCAP has spent over 50 years building community-led support networks and promoting dignity in every interaction with those facing temporary financial hardship. The organization operates through the generosity of local churches, businesses, volunteers, and donors who believe in preventing homelessness rather than addressing it after the fact.
