About Highland Food Pantry
Highland Food Pantry of Winchester, Virginia is a community-based food distribution organization serving individuals and families experiencing chronic hunger in the northern Shenandoah Valley. Operating as a member agency of the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank network since its incorporation in 2013, the pantry grew from a community outreach initiative of Highland Memorial Presbyterian Church to become an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The organization distributes food and provides limited emergency financial assistance to anyone in need, without requiring proof of residency or documentation. In 2025 alone, Highland Food Pantry served over 9,900 families and distributed nearly 794,160 pounds of food, supported by 150 regular volunteers and community donors. The pantry remains deeply rooted in faith-based values, serving with respect, compassion, and a commitment to ending hunger in the region.
