About Market Street United Methodist Church
Market Street United Methodist Church, established in 1789, stands at the corner of Cork and Cameron Streets in Old Town Winchester, Virginia, as a beacon of Methodist faith and community service. The church welcomes visitors with hearts and hands open, maintaining a rich heritage rooted in Wesleyanism and the powerful preaching tradition of Francis Asbury. Led by Pastor Jack Lee since July 2025, the congregation gathers on Sunday mornings at 10:30 AM, where the sounds of the pipe organ and joyful singing fill the historic sanctuary. Market Street UMC actively serves the Winchester community through ministries including Kitchen of Hope, which provides meals every Thursday, and WATTS Family Promise, reflecting the Methodist commitment to loving neighbors as oneself. The church celebrates an open communion table on the first Sunday of each month, inviting all to experience God's abundant love within this welcoming faith community.
