About St John the Baptist
St. John the Baptist is a Catholic parish in Covington, Washington, established in 1991 with a strong legacy of stewardship and community service. The parish has grown from its initial 250 families to a vibrant community with over 80 ministries serving both parishioners and the wider community, including active St. Vincent de Paul and Knights of Columbus organizations, as well as culturally rich groups such as English and Hispanic Charismatic communities, a Filipino-American Society, and the Guadalupanos. Under the pastoral leadership of Father Crispin Okoth, who joined in summer 2024, the parish emphasizes hospitality, stewardship, and faith formation across all ages. In July 2024, St. John the Baptist joined with Holy Spirit Parish in Kent as part of the diocesan Partners in the Gospel initiative to serve their communities more effectively. New parishioners are warmly welcomed through regular Welcome Gatherings and parish registration, with staff available to assist visitors in connecting with the parish community.
