About Tahoma One Drop Zen Monastery
Tahoma One Drop Zen Monastery in Freeland, Washington, is a Rinzai Zen practice community that welcomes both local and online participants to its regular Sunday zazen services. Every Sunday from 8am to approximately 9:30am, the monastery holds Zazenkai, a straightforward service featuring chanting, seated meditation (zazen), a brief dharma talk, and time for casual conversation with the sangha. The community also offers seasonal daylong and week-long retreats throughout the year, with the flexibility to accommodate visitors who wish to join in person or via Zoom. Those new to Zen practice will find instruction in the basics of Rinzai form and are encouraged to meet the local sangha and deepen their engagement with Buddhist practice.
