About Vashon United Methodist Church
Vashon United Methodist Church is a welcoming congregation in Vashon, Washington that extends radical hospitality to people of all ages, races, ethnicities, abilities, sexual orientations, gender identities, family structures, economic situations, and faith histories. As a Reconciling Congregation affiliated with the Reconciling Ministries Network, the church is committed to being in loving Christian ministry with all people without prejudice and to resisting oppression in all its forms. The congregation gathers on Sunday mornings to sing, pray, and study scripture together, drawing from both traditional Methodist hymnals and contemporary music. Following worship, visitors are invited to join the community for coffee and conversation, and on the first Sunday of most months, a celebration potluck brings the congregation together. The church is rooted in the Methodist tradition of open hearts, open minds, and open doors.
