St. John's Catholic Church in Benwood, West Virginia is a newly reconstructed parish that reopened in 2017 following a devastating fire that destroyed the original church in 2015. The new building was thoughtfully designed to honor the parish's heritage, incorporating salvaged religious artifacts including stained glass windows, statues, icons, and portions of the original high altar that were restored and integrated into the contemporary space. The church seats 150 parishioners and features a memorial garden with decorative limestone and silver crosses salvaged from the former structure. In addition to the sanctuary, the parish maintains a remodeled hall across the street equipped with modern facilities and kitchen amenities. St. John's serves as a welcoming spiritual home for the Catholic community in the Ohio Valley region.
