About Dunbar Church of the Nazarene
Dunbar Church of the Nazarene is an evangelical Christian congregation rooted in the Methodist tradition, located in Dunbar, West Virginia. Founded in 1930 during the Great Depression by Rev. Earl Hissom and a group of dedicated believers, the church has grown from a modest wooden structure called the "Glory Barn" to its current building on the corner of 16th and Lightner Street. The congregation's mission is to be the heart, hands, and feet of Christ in the local community and around the world, accomplished through worship, discipleship, and community ministries. Pastor Greg leads Bible-centered worship services on Sunday mornings, with multiple attendance options including in-person gatherings, Facebook Live, and conference calls.
