About St John United Church-Christ
St. John United Church of Christ has served the Appleton, Wisconsin community since 1894 through worship services, fellowship activities, volunteer service and church ministries. As an Open and Affirming congregation officially welcomed into the movement in January 2026, the church celebrates diversity and strives to provide an extravagant welcome to people of all ages, races, cultures, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, as well as those with varying physical, cognitive or emotional abilities. The congregation is committed to living God's unconditional love, following the teachings of Jesus by listening across differences and building understanding. Church life emphasizes prayer for members and their extended families, compassionate service through community engagement, and creating a caring body where members can explore faith through questions and conversation.
