About General Secretariat Of The Franciscan Missions
The General Secretariat of the Franciscan Missions in Burlington, Wisconsin, is a Catholic organization dedicated to spreading the Gospel message and serving the poor worldwide. Founded in 1964, the organization coordinates with over 5,000 Franciscan missionaries across more than 600 missions on six continents, channeling donations to support orphanages, soup kitchens, medical clinics, sustainable water projects, farms, churches, and housing for impoverished communities. Guided by the spiritual legacy of St. Francis of Assisi, who devoted himself to serving the marginalized, the Secretariat works in partnership with the Order of Friars Minor and other Franciscan communities to deliver tangible hope and Gospel witness. The organization invites donors and supporters to join their monthly giving club, Poverello, and participate in their mission of transforming lives through charitable action and spiritual renewal. Visitors and those seeking to learn more about their work are welcome to explore their appeals for aid and ongoing projects throughout the world.
