About Skonewood Christian Retreat
Skonewood Christian Retreat is a non-denominational Christian retreat center located on 120 acres along Little Mirror Lake near Cushing, Wisconsin. Founded in 1969 by Art and Agnes Skone, the facility was formally established as a retreat center in 1978 and continues to operate under the direction of a 12-member board with volunteer support. The center welcomes families, church groups, and individuals seeking a peaceful setting to reconnect with God and one another in a natural environment. Skonewood offers camping, cabin rentals, a Fellowship Center for meetings and services, and a small chapel replica of the historic First Lutheran Church of Cushing. Throughout the year, the retreat hosts various Christian retreats and group camps, and during summer months, Sunday evening musical services are held featuring praise, worship, and fellowship.
