About Bethel United Methodist Church
Bethel United Methodist Church has served the Elkhorn community since 1872, welcoming families, farmers, business leaders, and newcomers into a sanctuary open to all. The congregation gathers for Sunday worship at 10 am and maintains an active Sunday School that continues through the summer. Bethel's worship is characterized by both traditional and contemporary hymns led by an active choir, with Holy Communion shared on the first Sunday of each month. The church embraces an inclusive approach, affirming people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, racial and ethnic backgrounds, ages, physical and mental abilities, and economic statuses. Beyond worship, Bethel is deeply mission-focused, supporting 16 national, statewide, and local missions including the Elkhorn Community Meal, CROP Walk for World Hunger, and partnerships with other churches in the Whitewater Area Regional Ministries.
