About Ephraim Moravian Church
Ephraim Moravian Church, founded in 1853 by Norwegian immigrant Reverend Andreas Iverson, stands as the first church on the Door County peninsula and remains the historical heart of the village of Ephraim, Wisconsin. The congregation embodies the Moravian motto of "In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; and in all things, love," reflecting a faith tradition dating back to 1457 and emphasizing Christ as Savior while welcoming diverse expressions of worship. With a newly welcomed Pastor Chris Jorgensen beginning in July 2025, the church continues its legacy of fruitful ministry through Sunday worship at 10:30 a.m., livestreamed services, and a warm welcome extended to both year-round residents and Door County visitors. The fully accessible church building, complemented by the musical talents of Music Director Colin Welford at the historic organ, offers a contemplative worship experience rooted in Moravian tradition.
