About Pioneer Presbyterian Church
Pioneer Presbyterian Church, established in 1863, stands as one of Wisconsin's earliest Presbyterian congregations, born from the determination of settlers in what was then a rough sawmill community. Located at 1947 Riverside Avenue in Marinette, the church welcomes visitors to join its traditional Sunday morning worship at 9:00 a.m., which features a blend of traditional and contemporary music led by the choir, vocalists, musicians, and Bell Choir. The congregation is rooted in Reformed theology and the Presbyterian tradition, affirming the Apostles' Creed and Nicene Creed while understanding Scripture as God's inspired Word. Beyond worship, Pioneer offers Sunday School and nursery care, Bible studies, small group learning experiences, monthly family activity nights, and seasonal outdoor worship services overlooking the Menominee River. A coffee hour follows each Sunday service, providing fellowship and connection for both longtime members and newcomers.
