About Institutional Ministries
Institutional Ministries is a Milwaukee-based organization dedicated to bringing spiritual care and the light of Jesus' love to people in institutions and difficult circumstances throughout Wisconsin. The ministry operates four primary programs: Correctional Care serving inmates in county jails, state prisons, and federal penitentiaries; Health Care chaplaincy for patients in hospitals and mental health facilities far from their home churches; Extended Care serving residents in nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and hospice facilities; and Caring Support offering spiritual guidance and support groups for those struggling with addiction, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and moral injury. Rather than a traditional parish church, Institutional Ministries partners with local pastors to provide compassionate spiritual presence to some of the most marginalized and underserved populations in the community.
