The congregation began with 24 adults meeting at the Knights of Columbus Hall and has grown to establish its own building, dedicated in 1985. As a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), Saint Matthew is committed to shining the light of God's Word to make and strengthen disciples of Jesus Christ. The church offers multiple worship services throughout the week, including Sunday services at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., with Bible study and Sunday school at 9:15 a.m. Saint Matthew has been actively involved in community outreach, including prison ministry, blood drives, and voting accommodations, demonstrating a strong commitment to serving Port Washington beyond its congregation walls.
