About First Congregational Church of Ripon
First Congregational Church of Ripon is a vibrant faith community rooted in Ripon's oldest continuous church organization, founded in 1850. The congregation describes itself as a community of wonder that holds up hope, engages in dialogue about doubt, builds beloved community, and seeks God's love and justice in the world. As a United Church of Christ congregation, they are committed to an Open and Affirming covenant that welcomes people of all sexual orientations and gender identities into full participation in church life. The church is actively engaged in community ministry, including a monthly community dinner serving over 100 drive-through meals, a food pantry supporting local families, and fellowship gatherings throughout the year. The current church building, constructed in 1866–1868, is listed on the Wisconsin and National Register of Historic Places and continues to serve as a meeting place for an active congregation focused on both spiritual growth and service to the marginalized.
