About St Joseph Catholic Church
St. Joseph Catholic Church is a vibrant Roman Catholic parish in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, with roots reaching back to 1855 when it was established to serve Milwaukee's growing German Catholic population. The congregation moved to its current location in the 1960s and completed their present church building in 1970, retaining artifacts from the original church including bells and an ornate baptistry. Today, approximately 900 households are registered with the parish, and the community is known for strong participation, excellent preaching, and outstanding congregational singing during Mass. Under the pastoral leadership of Fr. Justin Lopina, supported by Deacons Jose Gonzales and Kurt Peot, St. Joseph offers a full range of Catholic sacraments, ministries, and formation programs for families, young adults, children, and seniors. The parish welcomes visitors of all backgrounds—whether returning to the faith after time away, coming from another tradition, or new to the neighborhood—and invites them to join a community devoted to encountering and being transformed by Christ.
