Churches in Newport, AR

For a first Sunday visit, plan ahead because known service times lean early. Among churches that share a Sunday schedule, most begin before 9 AM, while another starts in the 10–11 AM window. Traditional worship is the most commonly noted style, though several churches identify as contemporary, so the feel can vary from quieter and familiar to more modern. Families may want to look for churches with kids ministry, and there are also options that mention youth group or small groups. A couple of congregations note Wednesday gatherings, which can be a helpful way to meet people in a smaller setting before or after a Sunday visit.

What stands out is the practical, community-facing language many churches use. First Assembly of God is described as loving and serving the community, while The 5th Street Church of Christ emphasizes Christian worship and fellowship for local residents. Several congregations are simply presented as welcoming, which gives Newport’s church scene an approachable feel across Baptist, Pentecostal, Catholic, Methodist, and Church of Christ traditions.
