About St John of Damascus Orthodox Church
St. John of Damascus Orthodox Church in Poway is a parish of the Orthodox Church in America, continuing the apostolic tradition established by Christ at Pentecost. The welcoming community comprises families of all ages, including those new to Orthodoxy and lifelong members, united in worship and local ministry throughout the greater San Diego area. Under the pastoral leadership of Fr. Michael Anderson, the parish offers traditional Divine Liturgy services and fosters spiritual formation through church school for children ages three through seventeen and Wednesday evening adult education classes. Visitors are warmly invited to experience Orthodox worship and join the parish community in their commitment to nurturing the Orthodox faith in the region.
