About Mission of San Francisco de Asis
Mission of San Francisco de Asis, commonly known as Mission Dolores, is a Catholic parish and historic mission in San Francisco. Founded on October 9, 1776, it is described as the oldest intact building in the city and the only intact Mission Chapel in the chain of 21 established under the direction of Father Serra. The mission also includes the Mission Cemetery, the only cemetery that remains within San Francisco city limits. Worship is liturgical, with Mass offered throughout the week and on weekends in English, and the Sunday noon Mass celebrated in Spanish.
