About SGI-USA World Culture Center
The SGI-USA World Culture Center in Santa Monica is part of the Soka Gakkai International, the most diverse Buddhist community in the United States with more than 11 million members across 192 countries. This humanistic Buddhist organization practices Nichiren Buddhism, centered on respect for the dignity of all human life and the belief that individuals possess inherent Buddha nature containing unlimited wisdom, courage, and compassion. Members engage in daily practice by chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo and studying the Lotus Sutra, while gathering monthly for neighborhood discussion meetings to explore Buddhist principles and share experiences of applying Buddhism to life's challenges.
