Dress Code: Men and boys should wear a head covering (kippah); men coming to the bima must also wear a tallit. Women are not required to wear a head covering unless coming to the bima, though many do wear a tallit and/or kippah. Appropriate attire includes a suit, sport jacket and slacks, or dress/skirt; avoid miniskirts and sleeveless, strapless, or revealing clothing.

Service Format: Beth El holds a traditional Saturday morning service from 9:30 a.m. to noon with congregational participation in Torah and Haftarah readings; Friday evening services begin at 5:45 p.m., and a brief afternoon service (Mincha) is held Saturdays at 12:15 p.m. The congregation is egalitarian and welcomes children to participate, including all children under Bar/Bat Mitzvah age invited to the bima for Adon Olam at the service's end.
