About St. Mark Orthodox Christian Church
St. Mark Orthodox Christian Church is an Orthodox parish in Bradenton, Florida, and part of the Orthodox Church in America. Founded as Saint Mark Orthodox Mission on July 22, 1979, it was granted parish status in May 1998. The church moved into its current temple on Morgan Johnson Road in 2008, with the first service there held on Christmas Eve. Worship follows the traditional Orthodox liturgical pattern. Fr. Jonathan H. Cholcher has served as priest and rector since May 2020. Parish life includes adult classes, Sunday School for children, Lenten retreats, a lending library, and a bookstore.
