About St Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church
St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church has served as a spiritual home and cultural anchor for the Ukrainian community of South Florida since its founding in 1951. The parish moved to its current location in Cooper City in 1988–89, where a new temple was consecrated in 1992 and features interior iconography completed in 1998. Beyond worship, the church hosts children's programs, dance and music performances, Plast Youth organization gatherings, and community celebrations that preserve Ukrainian traditions for future generations. Every Sunday after the Divine Liturgy, the parish opens its doors for communal meals featuring traditional Ukrainian dishes like borshch, varenyky, and holubtsi, creating a warm space where families gather, newcomers find belonging, and the broader Ukrainian community strengthens its bonds.
