About Assumption Catholic Church
Assumption Catholic Church is a Catholic parish in Jacksonville with a long local history, reaching its 100-year anniversary in 2013. The present church was built in 1954 after the original Gary Street site was abandoned for Interstate 95, and its bell tower was added in 1973. The parish has continued to renew its campus, including renovations completed in phases by December 2010 and a new Adoration chapel completed in 2019. Worship is liturgical, with Mass offered throughout the week, including a Burmese Mass on Sunday. Parish life also includes children’s ministry, youth group, and Perpetual Adoration, which began in 2004.
