About Open Arms Christian Fellowship
Open Arms Christian Fellowship is a contemporary church in Jacksonville led by Bishop Leofric W. Thomas, Sr. Founded on April 13, 1999, the church held its first worship experience five days later at Paxon Middle School. In 2001, the congregation moved to Dunn Avenue after purchasing the former First Baptist Church of Garden City, and in December 2009 it expanded into a 1,000-seat worship facility. Open Arms has grown to well over 2,000 members and offers Sunday worship, Monday morning prayer calls, Wednesday midweek Bible study, and children’s ministry.
