About Greater Peace Baptist Church
Greater Peace Baptist Church in Columbus traces its history to 1939, when it was organized by Christian missionaries from New Mount Zion Baptist Church. Its first pastor was Reverend H. Hunter. After the church was destroyed by fire on March 4, 1951, the congregation rebuilt and continued its ministry. Reverend Corey J. Neal was installed as pastor on December 30, 2007, and the E.L. Sullivan Fellowship Hall honors Pastor Emeritus Reverend E. L. Sullivan. The church’s theme is “A Praying Church, Praising and Worshipping God, Glorifying Christ and Transforming People.”
