About First African Presbyterian Church
First African Presbyterian Church is a Presbyterian congregation in the Stonecrest/Lithonia area with liturgical worship. Its mission describes an Africentric Christian ministry called to shape consciousness and serve the needy. The congregation began in 1993 after Reverend Mark A. Lomax arrived, with its first worship service held two weeks later; the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta issued the church’s official charter that December. The church’s 2026 theme is “Pressing on with Purpose.” Sunday worship is held at 10:00 AM, and Wednesday Bible Study is held at 7:00 PM via Zoom.
