About First African Presbyterian Church
First African Presbyterian Church is a Presbyterian congregation in Stonecrest with a liturgical worship style. The congregation began in 1993, holding its first worship service two weeks after Rev. Mark A. Lomax arrived on April 15 of that year. The Presbytery of Greater Atlanta issued the church’s official charter in December 1993, and the name “First African” was adopted when Rev. Lomax was installed as pastor. Sunday worship is offered both in person and online, and the church also gathers for Wednesday evening Bible Study by Zoom.
